What the generator gives you
You get one paraphrase per request, not a list of random variants. That makes the result easier to judge: read it, compare it, keep what works. If you want a different take, change the style or run it again; each successful run counts its input words against your daily allowance.
- A rewritten text in the style you selected.
- Highlights on every word that changed.
- A before and after view with removed words struck through.
- A copy button, and the number of free words you have left today.
What happens behind the generator
The generator is a large language model working under strict rules. It must keep the meaning, keep citations, quotations, numbers, dates, names and technical terms, and add nothing that was not in your text. Protected items are checked in the answer; if anything is lost, a second model is asked once. Requests that try to hide AI use or get past plagiarism checkers are refused.
A bot paraphrase is only a draft. The model does not know your assignment, your reader or your field the way you do, so your review is part of the process, not an extra step.
Tips for useful paraphrases
Paste complete sentences and enough context. A lone clause gives the generator little to work with. Keep requests on one topic: two unrelated paragraphs in one request work, but they are harder to review.
Pick the style for the reader. Academic for a marker, Simple for a general reader, Formal for an official reader. If you are unsure, start with Simple to understand the passage, then use the academic paraphrasing tool for the version you submit.
Need only small word changes? The rewording tool keeps your structure and changes words and short phrases only.
Paraphrase, then cite
A paraphrase of a source still needs a citation. Rephrasa puts both steps on one site: after you generate the paraphrase, press Create Citation under the tool or open the citation generator, paste the source's DOI, URL or ISBN, and copy the reference in APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, IEEE or AMA.
Free limits
Free use: 500 words per request and 2,000 words per day, reset at 00:00 UTC. Premium: 2,000 words per request and 20,000 per day, at Rp29,000 for 30 days, a one-time payment with no auto-renewal. See pricing.
Generated paraphrase or your own?
Writing teachers recommend a manual method: read the passage, put it away, write what you remember, then check it against the original. A generator speeds up the middle step, but it cannot replace the reading. Use the generated text as one candidate. Often the strongest version mixes a phrase from the generator with your own sentence structure.
Where the generator shines is in showing alternatives you would not think of at the end of a long day: a cleaner verb, a better connector, a shorter way to say the same thing.
English and Indonesian
The generator detects whether your text is English or Indonesian from common function words and answers in the same language. It does not translate, and text in other scripts is declined with a clear message. Rephrasa also has a full Indonesian edition for students who write in Bahasa Indonesia.
Signs of a good generated paraphrase
- You can read it aloud without stumbling.
- Each claim keeps its original strength and scope.
- Every citation, figure and term from your field is still there.
- It is shorter or clearer than the original, not just different.
If a result fails one of these tests, try another style or keep your own wording for that sentence.
